Sony Pictures announced Nov. 12 it is purchasing Pure Flix’s. PureFlix is a Christian centered, video-streaming service launched in 2015. If this deal goes through it will shake up the family centered video streaming market and give PureFlix the necessary, push to dominate in this area and truly be the alternative to Netflix for family oriented video streaming customers.
Sony Pictures already have a family entertainment arm – Affirm Entertainment. PureFlix will naturally become part of Sony which also includes Affirm Films, the division responsible for popular faith-based films like” Miracles From Heaven,”” War Room” and last year’s “Overcomer.”
Streaming service have recorded tremendous increase this year in their subscriber base. This acquisition my be Sony’s to reach more homes with pure family entertainment that is suitable to kids and parents of all ages.
