Faith is the response of the human spirit to the word of God in every situation

Faith is simple without being simplistic. Faith is a trust proposition. Faith is based on relationships and the understanding of a concept, object, method, or words that then results in trust. People trust proven concepts. People trust words of friends, family, colleagues with evidence of reliability. When trust is not evidence based it is unreliable and not faith. Faith is the evidence of things hoped for, the proof of unseen realities (Hebrew 11:1).

Rarely do people check the flight plan, last engine maintenance, or present state of the pilot before boarding a plane and flying for thousands of miles. They simply trust that government institutions, airline engineers and pilots have done their jobs. Every now and then there is a failure in this chain, but people still fly. Why? They trust that it works. That planes crash, pilots make mistakes, plane manufacturers deliver poorly designed planes in some cases has not dampened this trust. Why? They trust the words, plan, and proofs of the airplane handlers even before boarding.

Faith in God is simple yet based on established principles. It is so simple that unbelievers ridicule and complicate its meaning.  They complicate it by their misunderstanding of God, His principles, and His Word. Faith in God is the response of the human spirit to the word of God. You respond with your spirit and not with your mind. Your spirit hears from God and seeks to please God. Your mind depending on how renewed it is, tend to reason everything out based on the only tools it knows – its senses. What the unrenewed mind cannot see, touch, feel, and taste it does not trust. When the mind is renewed with the word of God, it stops feeding from its physical senses. It now lives by faith (Hebrews 10:13) – feeds from its spiritual sense.

As institutions around the world fail and are increasingly perplexed every Christian will be called to choose between walking by their senses or by faith in the word of God. The Christian is born of God and seek to lives faith in God. The spirit of true Christians naturally hears from God and is in tune with God. The dilemma for some will depend on their answer to this question. Are you led by the spirit or by your physical senses? If you are led by your physical senses regarding anything it is not of faith. If you are led by the Spirit regarding anything it is by faith. By faith you respond to adversity. By faith you respond to fear, despair, lack, lose, false doctrines and information.

There was a lady called Hannah. She had not children of her own and had prayed for years asking for a child. She was also in a polygamous married and the other wife bore several children. Though her husband loved her, the other taunted her persistently.   In Hannah’s situation:

  • It seemed all hope was lost.
  • She stopped eating.
  • She cried and grieved often.
  • She was depressed and in anguish because of her barrenness.
  • She was accused of being drunk while praying yet she was not angry with the priest.
  • She prayed every year she came to offer sacrifice to the Lord with the rest of the family.

Despite all the crying, depression and prayer over the years Hannah’s prayer was not answered until she:

  • Received the word of God from the priest.
  • Believed and responded to the word of God from the priest: And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. (1 Samuel 1:18)

Every year, Hannah demonstrated her believe in God when she went to Shiloh and prayed. On this occasion her response to the word of God spoken by Eli the Priest made the difference. She responded to the word of God spoken by the priest not his accusation, not her situation, and certainly not to the taunting of the other wife. Who or what is speaking to you? Whose words are you responding to? Are you responding to words of men, life challenges or to God’s word? If you are responding to fear (note that fear is different from caution) then it is not of God. Fear is the response of the human spirit to adversity, news, false doctrines, and ideas that are not of God.

The year 2020 has been a difficult one for many and the years ahead may not  be easier. But they that wait upon the Lord, trusting and doing His word shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall walk and not faint! Remember that sometimes we must climb the mountain to view the plain. There are mountains you speak to, mountains you climb and mountains you walk through in life. In all He has promised to be with us. Trust Him!

As the year draws gradually to a close the one question on the mind of governments, businesses and individuals is obvious. In Christ we are called to live by faith and not by sensory perceptions. We do not deny the presence of contrary winds, adverse conditions, problems, trials, and temptations. We focus on what God has done and said, while speaking to these contrary situations and compelling them to align with the will of God. We put on the whole armor of God and cast down every imagination, situation, idea, or policies that seek to stand against God’s people and agenda. We burn inward and glow outwards in season and out of season by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The year 2021 is loading. What has God said to you? What have you heard from God? How are you responding to His word? How are you preparing for the days ahead? How ready are you for the rapture of the Church? Are you Born Again? Recall that faith is your response to the word of God. If you are not hearing God’s word that brings faith, hope, and love then reposition yourself to hear the message of hop, love and faith in Christ. If you are hearing God’s word that brings faith, hope, love and enables you move into 2021 with confidence in God then happy are you.

Merry Christmas and Happy year 2021 from all of us at BeingBornAgain101.com
