The right to choose how we respond in life and circumstances is sacrosanct. The right to choose is a thread that is woven throughout scripture (Deuteronomy 30:1-30, Isaiah 1:19-19, John 6:67). Even today people are choosing to respond to life issues by faith or in fear. Every day when faced with difficult situations, we should choose to petition instead of complaining, fight instead of surrender, have faith in God instead of giving in to fear. Times may be challenging but there is good in the land (Psalm 33:5). This season of your life may seem like you are all alone, but God is still on the throne rooting for you because in his script already written for you, you overcame. So, choose to fight with the whole amour of God. Having had your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace its time to take up the shield of faith. Fight!
Shield yourself with Faith in God: faith is demonstrative. The antithesis of faith is fear. Faith is trust and corresponding action in God. Fear is trust in the adversary, enemy or opposition and its corresponding action. Faith in God is a shield against all the negative news, information, ideas and even actions out there. But you must take corresponding action. For example, don’t just say God is going to help my business, prayerfully set God inspired business goals and actions and take them. They may involve you walking on water (actions that sound stupid to the natural man) but if they are God inspired, they will work.
Work out your Salvation: Your salvation in Christ was freely given to you but it was bought with a price. You must protect it and walk it out (express it). Remember it’s the overcomers that are celebrated. Never let your spouse, child, family, friends, culture, and the world condition or push you away from the salvation you received in Christ. If you have not been saved, then the best time is now.
Pray Always: Prayer is citizen communication, petition, fellowship, and worship activity in and by the Holy Spirit. When done by a citizen of the kingdom of God who knows his or her rights in Christ and how to apply them, the experience and results are amazing. Make specific petitions and pray in and out of season for the saints of God around you and globally.
Prayer can be in any language but the most effective language of prayer in the kingdom of God is tongues. Do not despair if you are born again and not speaking in tongues yet. The Holy Spirit is already in you, and it will happen sooner or later. Get ready! Know that God hears prayers even in your heart but aspire and continue to prayerfully seek the most excellent way, This book (God morning Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn) may help you in your journey of discovering and speaking the most effective prayer language God gave to his children. If you do not believe in speaking in tongues, then I encourage you to study the subject especially if you are born again.
Proactively Watch: The Greek word agrypnountes is translated “watch”. It means to maintain a state of alertness at all times. To not fall asleep. To remain prepared. This is tied to a sustain culture of prayer and spiritual alertness in preparation for the coming of the Lord (remember Rapture is 1st before the 2nd coming). We are called to be watchmen. As the coming of the Lord draws near, be watchful. Maintain a high degree of preparedness. Remain and grow in what God has committed to your hands (your purpose in Christ). Thank God for pastors, leaders and churches that help us stay prepared through sound teachings and spiritual activities but be aware that you are directly responsible for your preparedness. If you by participating in mundane activities struggle to hear the voice of God today, how will you hear the rapture trumpet?
Be encouraged! Christianity is not a religion. It is the pulsating life of God in a human spirit. It is God tabernacle in man. In the days ahead there will be a greater manifestation of the sons and daughters of God. It is your time to shine ever so brightly with the light of the Gospel, bringing men and women into the Kingdom. Everywhere you are, let men see your good works and glorify your Father, who is in heaven. As the Bible says, “…the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” (Isaiah 60:3). In other words, as you manifest Christ everywhere, bearing the truth of His glorious Gospel, they’ll turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God. Hallelujah! Remain strong, steadfast, and unmovable, always abounding in love for the joy of the Lord is our strength. Fight!
