West-Africa – US special forces conducted an operation in Northern Nigeria to free an American citizen – Philip Walton, who had been kidnapped by armed men suspected to be Boko Haram, the Pentagon said Saturday.
US special forces rescued 27-year-old Philip Walton, who had been abducted on Tuesday from his home in neighboring southern Niger, officials said.

It is reported that no US troops were hurt in the operation on Friday night but several of his captors were killed.

President Trump also twitted the successful rescue on his twitter handle even as the entire operations and collaboration nations remain sketchy at this point.
